Why a Pet Classified in Ottawa?
I live in Ottawa. It seemed like a good place to start.
In Ottawa there are a few places one can post your pet classifieds. Used Ottawa is one, Kijiji, Craig’s List. There are a few associations that offer a forum in which you can post your stuff.
They all have their good points, but there are some shortcomings as well.
Used Ottawa. Great place if you are looking for a little bit of everything. There is no specialty. It’s a general site in which if you go to the main page, you don’t see any ads, just categories.
Rex and Fritz’z Stuff shows you ad’s right away. And we show you pet ads. If your ad was a featured ad it shows at the top on the slider. New ads show on the main page of the Just Listed tab.
Kijiji is similar to Used Ottawa except now you see some ads! Just a few though, don’t wnat to give you too much info. Now find your category amongst the many many on the main page. As above for Used Ottawa, it takes too long to get to what you want.
Rex and Fritz’z Stuff has categories too, but the categories are all pet related. broken down into the pets and thier stuff, not just a big general PET category or DOG category. Heck, if it gets to a point where we are getting so many Dog Kennel ads we’ll make a new category called Dog Kennels. Will Used of Kaj do that?
Craig’s list, well, it’s Craig’s List. You post something there and most of the correspondence you get from it is from someone in Uganistan telling you that they will pay 32x the price if you will ship it to them. Oh and getting to the info you want, well wade through all the geography first, then the categories, then finally get to some general posts.
The associations around town are good spots, if you know about them. Some have restrictions on the forum where you can post which make it difficult to sell what you list.
Rex and Fritz’z Stuff is a classified site, not a forum, but if someone wants to post a comment about your item, and it helps you sell it, hey, carry on a conversation there! Everyone gets the same treatment. No restrictions or memberships to give you added bonuses.
All this to say that I wanted to give the Ottawa pet community a place to trust their pet selling to a place that cares about their pets. Rex and Fritz are a couple of dudes that care.
